Donations
We welcome you to the Donations section of our resource and thank you for taking the time to think about (or hopefully, act) and donate to our society!
BCSTH receives donations from individuals, groups, business and other formal entities. We love receiving the gifts from groups or corporate partners but are always heartened when we receive a donation from friends and family of women who have experienced domestic violence, of which we receive many each year.
Unless directed by the donor(s), BCSTH uses all donations to enhance the EMERGENCY LOAN FUND (ELF) for women, so your donations go directly to women, youth and children fleeing violence through our member agencies.
We also apply a small amount of the donations received annually, to organize and manage PREVENTION CAMPAIGNS as this is a crucial area which isn’t always funded by governments and foundations, who are our main funding partners in our day to day work at BCSTH.
BCSTH is a registered federal charitable organization as well as a registered non profit society in BC. This means that we not only are able to elicit and garner donations but that we can also issue taxable donation receipts for all donations over $20. Our Charitable number is available upon request.
None of the donations received go to support our office or staff, all go towards prevention or directly back to women and children through the emergency loan fund.
